This Privacy Policy describes how Date Dash - Automation Tool for dating ("Date Dash", “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website at https://date-dash-app.vercel.app (the “Site”) and our Chrome extension “Date Dash – Automation Tool for dating” (the “Extension”). By using the Site and/or the Extension, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

  • User Account Information. From Google Sign-In (via Chrome Identity API and/or Firebase Auth): Google user ID, name, email, and profile picture URL. These are stored locally in your browser’s storage only (chrome.storage.local / localStorage), not publicly visible.
  • Usage & Settings Data (stored locally). Extension settings such as auto-message, auto-swipe, auto-chat, relationship type, re-message enabled, and re-message delay hours. Authentication state and basic user info for UI (e.g., user_authenticated, user_email, user_name, user_id). Re-message history per chat to prevent repeat follow-ups.
  • Tinder Page Content (processed locally). The Extension reads DOM content from tinder.com to detect matches, conversation previews, and chat messages. When auto-reply or follow-up is enabled, a compact text representation of the conversation (“messages_string”) is sent to our API solely to generate a suggested reply.
  • Network Data. For AI replies/automation, the Extension sends messages_string and your selected relationship style to our API endpoint: Development: https://date-dash-app.vercel.app/api/ai.

How We Use Information

  • Provide and improve automation features (auto-replies, follow-ups, auto-swipe).
  • Authenticate you using Google Sign-In.
  • Generate chat suggestions with AI by sending the minimal messages_string to our API.
  • Maintain your preferences and ensure the Extension functions as intended.
  • Communicate important service updates.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

Data Storage and Retention

  • Local Storage Only for Most Data. User profile basics, auth state, settings, and re-message history are stored in your browser’s local storage.
  • AI Request Processing. The messages_string is transmitted to our API solely to generate a reply. We do not persist raw Tinder conversations for unrelated purposes.
  • Retention. Locally stored data remains on your device until you remove it. Any server-side logs or transient processing data (if any) are retained only as necessary to operate, secure, or troubleshoot the service.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use Compliance

  • Use of Google User Data. We access Google account information solely to authenticate you and personalize your experience. We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide the features you request, comply with law, or as part of a service provider agreement bound by confidentiality and security obligations.
  • No Advertising Use. Google user data is not used to build advertising profiles or for personalized ads.
  • Minimal Access. We request only the permissions required for core features: activeTab,

Permissions Rationale

  • activeTab and scripting: To inject and run the content script on tinder.com for automation features.
  • storage: To store your settings and authentication state locally.
  • identity: To enable Google Sign-In in the Extension.
  • Host permissions:
    • tinder.com: Read page content to operate automation and chat assistance.
    • googleapis.com: Retrieve basic user info using your Google token during sign-in.
    • date-dash-app.vercel.app / localhost:3000: Call our AI API to generate replies.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your information. We may share information only:

  • With service providers under strict confidentiality and security obligations to operate the Site/API.
  • To comply with legal obligations, enforce terms, or protect rights, property, or safety.
  • In a business transfer (e.g., merger or acquisition), subject to continued protection of your data.

Your Choices and Controls

  • Sign Out: Use the logout option in the Extension popup.
  • Clear Local Data: You can clear extension data via Chrome’s “Clear browsing data” or by removing/reinstalling the Extension.
  • Manage Settings: Toggle automation features anytime in the Extension popup.
  • Data Deletion Request: Contact us to request deletion of any server-side records associated with your account or AI requests.

Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the risks. However, no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and browser.

Children’s Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

International Users

Your information may be processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
